We reprised the workshops run earlier in the year: Braid and Cord making led by Hel and Fabric Backgrounds for Appliqué, led by Brenda. both had been a great success last time, thanks to the hard work of the activity leaders. Tonight allowed members to complete whichever session they missed last time. Again both sessions were hugely enjoyable leading to a lively and supportive evening. We continue to welcome new members so this allowed social contacts to begin to develop.

We also heard from one of an our members Anne who had completed a workshop at Royal School of Needlework, Hampton Court ( lucky thing): Passementerie, Louise Ashdown. Anne shared her completed piece shown below. On evenings when we don’t have a speaker members are encouraged to show and tell and share their work with other members. As you can see this also can provide information and a source of inspiration for all of us.

We held our usual raffle this month black and white bags were stitched by Angela and Jayne very different and both beautiful. Next month’s colour will be silver. Please bring contributions if you can

Traveling books also started circulating again tonight for those participating and will circulate again at our next meeting. The stitch of the month in the meantime is sheaf stitch, instructions for this are included in this meetings notices. The next meeting features Sarah Cage 50 years of textile experiment.
