Member Led Activities Fabric Weaving and Cord/Braid Making: 9th March 2026

What a great evening. We learnt a new skill choosing one of the two skills on offer. Members worked with each other and had a lot of fun in the process thanks are due to the two group leaders. Hel led the cord and braiding activity. The members who chose this workshop needed to actively work with each other to complete their braids. Hel had prepared very thoroughly and is a very positive tutor helping the session run so well.

Brenda had made packs for each participant which were very clear and helpful and provided an instruction sheet to take away. Her preparation and support on the night made all the difference. Again members were interacting with each other, helping if someone got stuck and having fun in the process.

We also held our usual raffle this month in yellow. The very effective bags were completed by Hel and Janet M and some of the contents are also shown below.

Next month’s meeting is on 13th April 2026. The raffle colour is green and the stitch of the month is Gobelin, stitch instructions were included in the newsletter. Anne Haigh will further develop her presentation on digitalizing the Embroidery Guilds collection which was so fascinating last time.
