Stitch of the Month for June

June’s stitch of the month is Jacobean couching, a crewel work stitch also known as Trellis couching.

Looks easy but geometric precision is needed.

1. Make a foundation grid by laying two sets of parallel lines across the area to be filled.

2. Then work small cross stitches to tie down the thread at the points where the grid lines intersect.

Thank you to Meriel for the illustration and instructions.
