Stitch of the Month – May

May’s stitch of the month is MAGIC stitch aka Magic chainstitch or chequered chain stitch.

Worked with 2 threads of different colour threaded into the same needle.Start working as for ordinary chain stitch, but when needle is ready to be pulled through, wrap just one coloured thread around the needle,  alternating colours as you progress.If when making one coloured stitch a little of the other colour is still showing on the surface, a slight pull will make it disappear. This is what lends Magic to the name.
